Wovn Depot. Snapback Hats | Brand, Fabric, Size & Care Guide

Every snapback hat in the Wovn Depot. lineup is built on the same foundation — the Yupoong 6089M Classic Snapback, one of the most recognized and trusted hat silhouettes in the headwear industry. These are not generic blanks pulled from a random supplier. The 6089M is a specific, well-documented, purpose-built hat with a construction history that goes back decades, and it is the hat we chose for a reason. Structured crown, flat bill, adjustable snap closure, and a profile that sits high and holds its shape. That is the starting point for every design we print on it.

What Wovn Depot. puts on top of that foundation is where the product becomes ours. Every graphic on these hats is designed exclusively in-house for the five communities Riot Mind Studios builds for — Panther Platform owners, horror fans, the Taíno community, gamers, and the 2A community. There is no licensing, no clip art, and no recycled designs. Each hat is produced on demand through Printful and ships directly to you once the order is placed. That means every hat you receive is a fresh build, not warehouse stock that has been sitting on a shelf.

The hats are available across a range of colorways depending on the design. Most options carry the standard 80% acrylic, 20% wool shell with the signature green undervisor. The Green Camo variant runs on a 65% polyester, 35% cotton blend with different construction to suit the pattern. Color availability varies by design but the silhouette, structure, and construction remain consistent across the entire lineup. One size fits most head circumferences between 21⅝″ and 23⅝″ (54.9 cm to 60 cm), adjusted through the plastic snap closure at the rear.

These hats are built to be worn — not collected, not displayed, not babied. The sections below cover everything you need to know about the brand behind the blank, the materials in the construction, how the fit works, and how to keep the hat looking the way it looked on day one.

Brand Guide

The Yupoong 6089M is part of the YP Classics collection — the traditional headwear line produced by Yupoong, Inc., a South Korean headwear company founded in 1974. Yupoong is one of the largest headwear manufacturers in the world, producing over 80 million hats annually and supplying brands across fashion, sports, and streetwear globally. They are best known for developing Flexfit technology in 1994 — the original stretch-fit hat — but their YP Classics line is where they kept the traditional snapback format alive and refined it over decades.

The 6089M specifically is Yupoong's take on the classic snapback — the same silhouette that defined headwear from the late 80s through the 90s and never really left. What separates it from cheaper versions of the same format is the construction. Full buckram interior for shape retention, 8-row visor stitching for structure, embroidered eyelets rather than punched holes, and a matching plastic snap closure that actually holds position without loosening over time. The green undervisor is the signature detail — a nod to the original streetwear aesthetic that made this style iconic in the first place.

Yupoong manufactures the 6089M in certified production facilities in Vietnam and Bangladesh and holds a zero-defect quality standard across its entire manufacturing operation. The blank arrives at Printful, where the Wovn Depot. graphic is applied before the hat ships to you. The hat itself is the same blank used by recognized brands across the headwear industry. The design on it is exclusively Riot Mind Studios.

Fabric Guide

The material in your hat matters more than most people think. The 6089M uses two distinct fabric blends depending on the colorway, and each one behaves differently in terms of feel, structure, and care.

Standard Colors — 80% Acrylic, 20% Wool

The primary blend across most colorways is 80% acrylic and 20% wool. Acrylic carries the structure. It holds shape, resists stretching, and keeps the crown sitting the way it should after repeated wear. The wool component adds texture and gives the hat a material weight that reads more premium than a straight synthetic. Together, the blend produces a hat that is firm where it needs to be — the crown and bill — and slightly more forgiving at the band where it contacts your head. This is not a soft, unstructured hat. It is built to maintain its profile.

Green Camo — 65% Polyester, 35% Cotton

The Green Camo colorway uses a different blend — 65% polyester, 35% cotton. Polyester is lighter and more breathable than the acrylic/wool mix, which makes this variant slightly less stiff out of the box. The cotton component adds some softness to the feel at the panel level. The construction underneath — buckram, bill stitching, snap closure — remains the same. The difference is in how the shell fabric feels and how it responds to wear and washing. Cotton/poly blends are more prone to color shift with heat and harsh detergents, which is why the care instructions for this variant matter more.

Note on the White Colorway

If a white variant is offered for a specific design, the white 6089M is 100% acrylic — no wool content. The care approach remains the same as the standard blend but the all-acrylic construction means it is even more sensitive to heat during cleaning.

Supplier Note

The Green Camo fabric content has been updated by Yupoong from the previously listed 60% cotton / 40% polyester blend to the current 65% polyester / 35% cotton blend. If you ordered this colorway during an earlier window, your hat may reflect the previous composition. Both versions carry the same construction and care requirements.

Size & Fit Guide

The Yupoong 6089M is a one-size-fits-most hat. The plastic snap closure at the rear adjusts to fit head circumferences between 21⅝″ and 23⅝″ (54.9 cm to 60 cm), which covers the majority of adult head sizes comfortably.

The high-profile crown sits taller than a low-profile or dad hat silhouette. If you prefer a lower crown or a more relaxed fit, this is not that hat. The 6089M is structured and sits up — that is part of the design intent and it is not something that breaks down over time with proper care.

To measure your head circumference, wrap a soft measuring tape around the widest part of your head — roughly one inch above your ears and across the mid-forehead. That number is your circumference. If you fall at or near the upper end of the range (23″ or above), the snap closure will still accommodate you but the fit will be closer. If you fall below the lower end, the hat may sit higher on the head than intended.

The snap closure uses a standard plastic snap with multiple locking positions. It does not stretch. Do not force the snaps beyond their natural locking point — doing so can crack the closure over time. If you need to adjust frequently, find the position that feels right and leave it there. The snap is designed to hold a set position, not to be opened and closed repeatedly like a belt.

Care Guide

The 6089M is a structured hat. That structure is what makes it look the way it looks, and it is also what makes improper washing a problem. Heat, submersion, and machine agitation are the three things that will break down the buckram, distort the bill, and kill the crown profile. All three of those things happen in a standard washing machine cycle. Do not machine wash this hat.

Spot Cleaning — Primary Method

For most situations, spot cleaning is all you need. Use a soft-bristled brush or a clean cloth with cold water and a small amount of mild detergent. Work the cleaner into the stained area in a gentle circular motion, then wipe clean with a damp cloth. Do not soak the panel. Get the surface clean and move on. For sweatband buildup along the interior band, use the same method — damp cloth, mild detergent, light pressure. Let the hat air dry completely in its natural shape before wearing or storing.

Deeper Cleaning

If spot cleaning is not enough, hand wash only. Fill a basin with cold water and add a small amount of gentle detergent — dish soap works fine. Submerge the hat briefly, work the soiled areas by hand with light pressure, then rinse thoroughly with cold water. Reshape the crown and bill immediately after rinsing and allow the hat to air dry upright on a flat surface or placed over a round object that approximates the shape of the crown. Do not wring, do not squeeze, do not compress the bill while it is wet.

What to Avoid

  • Machine washing — the agitation cycle distorts the buckram and pulls the panels out of alignment
  • Hot water — heat warps the bill and can cause acrylic and wool fibers to shrink or pill
  • Tumble drying — same issue as hot water; also flattens the crown permanently
  • Bleach or fabric softener — bleach breaks down acrylic and wool fibers and strips dye; fabric softener leaves a residue that affects the material over time
  • Dishwasher cleaning — still circulates online as a hat cleaning method; do not use it on a structured hat with buckram and an embroidered graphic
  • Direct sunlight drying — prolonged UV exposure during the drying process can fade the graphic and shift the color of the shell fabric, particularly on cotton/poly variants

Shaping After Wash

While the hat is still damp from cleaning, take a moment to reform the crown with your hands and set the bill back to its original flat position. The buckram holds shape well when dry but is more workable when damp. Once it dries in the shape you set, it will hold that position. If the bill has developed any unwanted curve from storage or wear, a damp cloth applied to the underside of the bill followed by gentle pressure and air drying flat will usually bring it back.

Storage

Store the hat on a hook, a hat rack, or on a shelf where it is not being compressed by other items stacked on top of it. Avoid leaving it in a car or direct sunlight for extended periods. Keep it away from moisture during storage — acrylic and wool blends do not respond well to prolonged ambient humidity.

Care Summary

  • Spot clean with cold water and mild detergent as the primary method
  • Hand wash only if deeper cleaning is needed — cold water, gentle detergent
  • Air dry upright, away from direct sunlight and heat sources
  • Reshape crown and bill while damp
  • No machine washing, no tumble drying, no bleach, no hot water
  • Store on a hook or hat rack away from compression and moisture
