Spot-clean first: Use a soft cloth or sponge, lukewarm water (≤ 100 °F / 38 °C), and a mild, dye-free detergent. Dab—don’t rub—to lift dirt without abrading the print or the seam edges.
Full wash only when necessary: Hand-wash in a sink or tub with the same mild detergent; submerge for no more than 10 minutes. Agitation should be gentle swirling—avoid scrubbing panels to preserve the ink layer.
Avoid machine cycles: High-speed agitation and spin can crease printed panels, stress seam tape, and degrade the water-resistant coating. If a machine is unavoidable, use a front-loader on delicate/cold, inside a protective laundry bag, and skip the spin cycle.
Rinse thoroughly: Detergent residue attracts dirt and can cloud the water-repellent finish; rinse until water runs clear.
Air-dry only: Reshape the pack, hang it upside-down with zippers open, and let it drip-dry away from direct sun or heat sources (radiators, dryers). Heat > 120 °F / 49 °C can wrinkle the polyester and cause sublimation inks to ghost.
Re-proof periodically: After 10–12 washes, refresh the DWR (durable water-repellent) finish with a spray-on polyester-safe repellency treatment; follow the product’s air-curing instructions—no tumble-dry heat.
Storage best practices: Empty pockets, close zippers halfway to relax tension, and store in a cool, dry place. Avoid long-term compression (e.g., under other gear) to prevent creasing and print cracking.
